Peter had the utmost respect for the power of bold photography to shape his storytelling. The sea is unknown and mysterious to most people; this makes it harder for people to care about and want to protect the ocean, which each of us, no matter where on Earth we live, counts on for our very survival.
Where words alone simply do not suffice, the stirring images that great underwater photographers capture beneath the surface creates a visual vocabulary of emotion – beauty, wonder, curiosity, destruction – a dazzling array of visible sentiments that we need to move people to care, to act to protect our amazing blue planet.
We are deeply grateful to all of the incredibly talented marine photographers who have graciously allowed us to showcase their work on our site.
